FAQs

In reality, the airtight windows offered by various brands in the market exhibit similar levels of airtightness. However, the key distinction lies in their sound insulation capabilities. Apart from the window design itself, the glass thickness also plays a crucial role in determining the soundproofing performance of the windows.

It is worth noting that certain manufacturers may label ordinary aluminum windows without proper test reports as "airtight windows" or "soundproof windows" to boost their chances of securing orders. Therefore, it is essential to exercise caution and ensure the presence of a valid test report for the specific window type.

【Estimated Installation Time】
The installation time varies based on factors such as quantity, construction method, and construction difficulty. Generally, it can range from half a day to several days. We recommend that you inquire about the estimated installation time when scheduling an on-site measurement with the manufacturer.

【Precautions for Bay Window Installation】
Installing aluminum bay windows on regular window openings to increase usable space is not recommended. There are several reasons for this:

Aluminum bay windows generally have poor sound insulation performance and typically use 5mm glass due to load considerations.
It conflicts with current building regulations and detracts from the overall cityscape.
There are safety concerns during natural disasters due to improper use (such as stacking heavy objects) or poor production.
If there are children in the household, they might climb and play on the aluminum bay window platform, increasing the risk of unnecessary falls.

【Method of Choosing】
First of all, you should understand your own needs. If you desire better sound insulation or high CP value, you can choose several preferred brands for comparison. Chipu will also provide consultation and suggestions based on our actual installation experience.

【Warranty Time】
The maximum warranty for aluminum windows in the market is 1 year or no warranty. Chipu provides a 3-year warranty for the hardware part and a 15-year warranty for the glass part. The warranty does not cover damages caused by natural disasters or human factors, so you can feel more at ease.

Generally speaking, aluminum doors and windows can be used for a long time. Under normal use, there are no problems with using them for 20 or 30 years, or even longer. However, certain special conditions may impact their service life. For instance, in seaside areas and hot spring areas, the living environment can have an adverse effect and potentially shorten the lifespan of the doors and windows. Regarding the "time to replace aluminum doors and windows," it can be broadly categorized into three scenarios:

1. The aluminum doors and windows have genuinely worn out and require replacement.
2. If you intend to enhance the overall comfort or aesthetics of your living space, the window's design may need to be changed and replaced.
3. The performance of the existing aluminum doors and windows may no longer address issues such as noise, air quality, and natural disasters associated with abnormal climate conditions prevalent in today's living environments. Hence, it becomes necessary to replace them with advanced aluminum doors and windows that offer superior performance.

Factors that will affect the price of airtight windows mainly include:

1. Airtight window brands, models, and performance differences
2. Glass configuration (color, energy-saving properties, thickness, cladding, and gluing)
3. Different construction methods (wet, dry)
All of the above factors will affect the price of the airtight window. Tzipoo can provide you with the most suitable suggestions based on your needs and budget.

The joint design between the window frame and the sash of the airtight window is relatively tight. By adding more airtight strips, the airtightness improves, resulting in effective noise reduction. Airtight windows manufactured by different companies may vary in quality, and their airtightness, watertightness, and wind pressure resistance can serve as quality indicators. Generally, soundproof windows combine airtight windows with thicker glass to achieve soundproofing effects. These windows often utilize glass with a thickness of 10mm or more, such as 5+5.

Glass materials are divided into "general glass," "strengthened glass," "glued glass," and "multi-layer glass." Generally, we install strengthened glass with a thickness of 5mm or more.

[Laminated glass] is composed of two pieces of glass bonded with resin in the middle. It offers sound insulation, shock resistance, and anti-theft effects, and is generally referred to as "soundproof glass."

The middle of [double-layer glass] contains a hollow layer, which is usually filled with nitrogen or argon. This helps isolate morning dew, noise, and heat energy, and is also known as "high-performance energy-saving glass."

If the budget allows or sound insulation is a higher priority, it is recommended to use laminated glass with a thickness of 5+5 or above. This will provide better sound insulation.
